Temporality and Site Specific Installation

Statement of Intent

With our project, we want to intervene with the charming facade of the city of Boston and bring to light some of its unsaid truths and forgotten histories. Our project is mainly aimed at children coming into the city to learn about its lengthy past. There is a prominent emphasis and focus on the area’s colonial history and backdrop for events related to the Revolutionary War, but much else is glossed over. With this installation, we would like to challenge that standard and center on learning about the Boston Busing Crisis as a much more tangible, recent moment that still affects the city to this day.
